Weight Loss Myths Busted - Plus the Real Way You Can Lose Weight Fast

You're trying to lose weight, and you've done some research into different weight loss methods. You've probably come across a few of what seem like miracle solutions for losing weight fast, but none are actually working for you. Fad diets and gimmicks are not the way forward, and I want to bust a few very popular myths about weight loss right now.

Weight Loss Myth #1 - Low Calorie Diets

Low calorie diets are actually the WRONG way to go about losing weight. Although at first this might seem counter intuitive: you eat less, so you should weigh less, right? Not true. The thing is, when you eat less your body goes into "survival mode" and starts stockpiling food (as fat), since it doesn't know when the next meal is coming in.

If you don't provide your body with enough energy and food throughout the day, your weight loss will stall. You'll feel hungry all the time but you won't lose weight, and that's no fun at all.

Weight Loss Myth #2 - Low Fat Diets

Low fat diets are a similar beast to low calorie diets. Experts say that by cutting out high fat foods, you'll lose weight fast. Again, this isn't entirely true. Your body converts all types of food to fat for storage, so whether you're eating a cream cake or a piece of lettuce, they are both available to your body to be stored as fat.

Cutting down on high fat foods will help in the long run, but it's by no means the single answer to fast weight loss. Low-fat, low-sugar is just one piece of the puzzle, and if you want to lose weight fast, you've got to get everything right or you may as well not bother.

Weight Loss Myth #3 - Low Carb Diets

Low carb (carbohydrate) diets involve cutting out stodgy foods like bread, potatoes, pasta and rice. However, carbs are our main source of energy throughout the day, and having no energy means you'll be tired, lethargic, grumpy and generally unhappy, even if you are losing weight. And of course if you start cutting out too many carbs, you're heading towards a low calorie diet (as mentioned above), and the cycle starts all over again, with STILL no weight loss in sight.

So now that we've busted a few weight loss myths and you can stop wasting your time, what can you really do to lose weight fast?

The answer is actually very simple. Eat MORE often. Losing weight is all about eating the right foods at the right time of day, so you literally force your body to burn off fat. Experts recommend that you need to eat at least 3 times a day, and preferably more like 6 for effective weight loss. Switch your diet to 6 small, balanced meals, and you'll be amazed.
